Committees

Otter Pond is one of those rare communities in which our membership is heavily involved. Over 30% of the properties within our subdivision are engaged in the Executive Board, a formal committee, or perform volunteer work! The residents of Otter Pond are committed to maintaining this exceptional neighborhood's beauty, quality of life, and security. Architectural Review Board

Chairperson: Janene Beard 

This Board approves additions, improvements, and building and landscape design changes. It achieves this by interpreting and administering the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions for the Otter Pond Subdivision regarding lot development and architectural considerations.

Pond Committee

Chairperson: Valerie Harper

This committee is concerned with maintaining ponds, reviewing and preserving their ecosystems, and periodically obtaining donations for fish replenishment.

Open Space Committee

Chairperson: Janene Beard ​

 

This committee is responsible for the design, enhancement, and non-operational maintenance of our common area open spaces, including Entrance, Tennis Court Park, Spillway Park, Otter Pond Park, Marina Park, Boathouse Park, and Eastside Park.  

Social Committee

​​Chairpersons: Carrie Galusha & Tina Davis

 

This committee strengthens association involvement and awareness by communicating and organizing community functions. They create and coordinate the Summer Picnic, the Illumination of the Pond, and the Christmas dinner.

Neighborhood Watch

 

Chairpersons: Alma Buis & Francis Pink

 

This committee organizes and prepares Otter Pond residents to effectively deal with crime and vandalism prevention. It educates homeowners on reporting suspicious activity effectively and communicates concerns and happenings to the community.

Boathouse

 

Chairperson:  Ryan & Amber Potter

 

This committee manages the Boathouse. It accepts applications for storing various watercraft and assigns spaces to the HOA membership. The committee also assists the Board with any HOA-sanctioned functions at the Boathouse.

Reserve Study

 

Chairperson:  David Beard

 

​​The Reserve Committee was created to ascertain our community property assets and maintenance values. The Reserve Fund minimizes the HOA's financial burden by projecting when costs might be incurred and smoothing assessments over an asset's expected lifespan.

Financial

Chairperson:  Kevin Sanderford

The Financial Committee maximizes the use of our community funds. This committee reviews budget evaluations and new cost considerations before submitting them to the executive board for approval.

Newsletter

Chairperson: Tom Clagett

Newsletters are shared monthly to keep residents informed on all things in Otter Pond.

Ditches

Chairperson: Tadd King

 

Meets with Uncompahgre Valley Water Users Association (UVWUA) to ensure water supply for the pond is flowing and sufficient.
